More than 50 alterations have been made to enhance the ease of use of TRIOS 5 Wireless, making it the smallest and lightest scanner ever offered by 3Shape. An LED ring and haptic sensory feedback make it possible for clinicians to be guided while scanning, saving even more time in the digital impression-making process. Distortion and misalignment in 3D models are significantly minimised thanks to ScanAssist technology, enabling users to create their preferred scan path by allowing scanning in any direction.

In a press release, Jakob Just-Bomholt, CEO of 3Shape, described the advantages of TRIOS 5 Wireless. TRIOS 5 Wireless sets a new standard in infection control. The enclosed scan tip is protected by a scratch-free sapphire glass window and has received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration. The tips are autoclavable up to 100 cycles. Practically invisible single-use body sleeves cover the entire area touched by the operator and minimise cross-contamination risk.

The scanner includes TRIOS Share, which allows clinicians to scan and use their TRIOS 5 Wireless from any computer in their practice using Wi-Fi. Having up to 66 minutes of scan time per battery and an energy-saving sleep mode, TRIOS 5 Wireless can be used all day.

Practitioners get more for their money with the included 3Shape Unite platform, which provides connection to more than 2,000 dental companies, laboratories, treatment solutions and practice management systems. Optional service agreement options are TRIOS Care, which provides training, support and express product replacement, and TRIOS Only, a scan-ready free service agreement.
