COPENHAGEN, Denmark: 3Shape has recently announced that it has acquired LabStar—a cloud-based laboratory management software (LMS) provider headquartered in the US. Approximately 600 dental laboratories around the world use LabStar services, and both companies are looking forward to combining their expertise in order to improve the quality of dental laboratory work.
LabStar provides simple, cloud-based LMS to help run a dental laboratory from case entry to invoicing. The software has powerful features to help manage clients, sales, logistics, digital files, reporting and billing.
Commenting on the acquisition, Dr Rune Fisker, senior vice president for product strategy at 3Shape, noted: “We are very excited to bring LabStar into the 3Shape family. We believe that LabStar is the very best LMS on the market, and so do the dental technicians we work with.”
“Whether you are a dental laboratory using 3Shape, LabStar, or both, having LabStar onboard will enable your laboratory to do so much more,” he added.
“There’s a little bit of magic here,” stated Jeff Noles, CEO of LabStar. “Two companies that are considered the best at what they do will now combine their shared dedication to innovation and customer service to provide dental laboratories with so many more opportunities, especially when it comes to digital dentistry, to grow and manage their businesses,” he concluded.
