HELSINKI, Finland: Planmeca Viso G3 is the newest member of the Planmeca Viso family of CBCT units. It is a multifunctional CBCT device covering all extra-oral imaging needs, from 2D to 3D imaging. Complemented by the all-in-one Planmeca Romexis dental software, the new unit completes Planmeca’s line of next-generation CBCT units, alongside Planmeca Viso G7 and Planmeca Viso G5.

Planmeca Viso G3 brings industry-leading usability and visibility for an even wider range of clinics and clinical needs, including endodontics and implantology. With a field of view ranging from 3 × 3 cm to 20 × 10 cm, the unit not only offers high-quality 3D images of the entire dentition but is able to capture detailed panoramic as well as extra-oral bitewing images for interproximal diagnostics. Additionally, the unit can be equipped with the Planmeca ProCeph one-shot cephalostat and, when the time is right, upgraded to Planmeca Viso G5 for a larger maximum 3D volume.

The new imaging unit also comes with all the benefits of Planmeca’s tried-and-true Viso technology. This includes easy-to-use imaging programs, a live video view for successful patient positioning and virtual field of view adjustments, freely adjustable 3D volume size and anatomical target selection. Additionally, the completely redesigned user interface can be mirrored on the workstation, reducing the need to move back and forth between the workstation and the patient.

More tools for less exposure

In line with the ALADA (as low as diagnostically acceptable) principle, Planmeca Viso G3 comes with multiple advanced ways of reducing the radiation dose to patients. These include the scientifically proven Planmeca Ultra Low Dose protocol, which reduces the effective patient dose without a statistical reduction in image quality. Additionally, scout images can be used to fine-tune the 3D volume before acquisition, and the unique Planmeca CALM algorithm for motion artefact correction can be applied both before and after acquisition to reduce the need for retakes, especially when imaging livelier patients.

Combined, these features come together for a smooth and speedy imaging workflow—without compromising safety or patient comfort.
